does anyone know how to remove those icons on the task bar in the lower right hand corner next to the clock??? I can't find how to remove them permently.

Any specific icons you're looking to get rid of, or just all of them?
Also, if you don't mind telling, is there a reason you're looking to get rid of them? They're all pertaining to programs you have running, and there's probably a way to disable the system tray (although I'm not personally familliar with it) but those programs would still be running...

You can hide them so they will be under the arrow button:
Right click a blank area of the Taskbar,
click Properties,
check mark "Hide inactive icons",
click "Customize" button,
click each icon, and select from its dropdown menu what you want it to do:
Hide when inactive,
Always hide,
Always show.

I'm curious too. They can be very useful. Why get rid of them? You can right click on the taskbar, and check auto hide. Doesn't completely get rid of it, but maybe it's what you want. But not I.

Start-Run , now type in the letters
msconfig
Now click the radio button "Selective Startup".
Click the STARTUP tab.
Take the checkmark out of anything that you don't want an icon for. This will not delete the program, just the icon. If you want it back then replace the checkmark.

Thanks, the reason why I want to get rid of one of them is my wireless internet icon, something keeps poping up saying the interent is off for a second and then goes back on, it keeps poping up and i don't like that. I have tried going to the startup tab but when i go to the interent the icon just comes up again. Any help for what i am saying
