JAMIE, What do you have the view set as for the Control Panel (Icons, thumbnails, etc.). If you have it set as thumbnails change it to icons and see if the text appears. If you want it set to thumbnails hold the shiftkey down then select thumbnails.

JAMIE, Just open the Control Panel and click on "View" in the top Menu bar then select the word "icons". Now do you see the text under the icons? Post back as I'll be here for a short time.

JAMIE, Since this is the Windows XP forum I assumed you're using Windows XP but now I see in your first post you're showing Windows Vista. Which are you using?

JAMIE, Open Your Control Panel and on the top Menu bar click on View, then click on "Details" which will checkmark it. Now do you see text under the Name and Comments columns.

JAMIE, Are you saying that you have no Menu bar, Toolbar or Address bar when you open Control Panel? Do you have those bars when you open My Computer?

JAMIE, Go to the link below and under the letter "T" scroll down to "Toolbar - Missing" and download the "Toolbar Repair Utility" and save it to your hard drive. It's an exe file and just double click it to run it.
It should restore the missing Menu Bar, Toolbar, etc.

Well when you get back to the problem computer do it. If you can' access the Internet with the problem computer use another computer and download it to a CD, Thumb drive, floppy, etc. then transfer it to the problem computer's hard drive than run it.
