When I click on an ICON, the wrong application open. You can reboot and it will correct it for an undetermine time period, but the problem will resurface. Does not matter which ICON you click on, it will open the wrong application and a different application for each ICON. Has anyone has this problem?

porterjl2, It wouldn't hurt to go to the link below and scroll down to line 12 (left column) and click on "EXE (lnk and regfile) Fix for Windows XP" to download a reg file fix. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.
one thing do you check that stickeys is on ? If stickeys is on.It may be problem & also check viruses. Scan your harddrive with our antivirus with atest updates. Also check the registry settings if you change in past.
Thanks & regards

I have ran Symantec AV with the most current updates and Spydoctor. I am in the process of trying what Tufenuf said to try.
Thanks,

Tufenuf,
That did not fix the problem. A few more issues. 1. When you try to reboot, it will only let you choose Hibernate. 2. When it start acting up, your mouse will start to flicker when you try to open a program.
