I am trying to replace my CD rom with a DVD drive and every time i put the drive in the computer freezes.However when I do a safe mode start I can see the drive but for some reason it wont boot in normal start.I put my cd drive back in and it start normally. Any Ideas or advises?

guitsy, initial thought is 'memory'. Have enough? Look at the requirements for the new drive, then start>programs>accessories>system tools>system information to see how you're equipped. HTH. Ed in Texas.
