i3 processor support windows xp home

Specs: Windows xp home
Hi guys. My client has a near new i3 system with xp home edition installed. Above that he has office 2010 and 2 gb RAM, He liked only xp. Now ..the system takes a long time to boot and the coontrol panel (add/ remove prog) nearly frezees for about at least a minute to load. I hav checked .there is no spywares or other stuffs.. My biggest doubt is does the OS support the hardware. Please advice.

If the OS still works, then probably XP does support the i3, but it can't use the processor's full power with the hardware technology that XP has. Windows Vista and 7 use updated hardware control technology, so that it uses the full processor's power. It will work with XP, but you can probably get more out of the computer by using Windows Vista or 7 on it.

The issue isn't whether or not the processor supports XP, which it does, but whether you can obtain XP device drivers for the system. In the case of new hardware, particularly laptops, that is by no means a certainty.

Check in Device Manager to see if there are any device that do not have drivers.
