The email I use at work using MS outlook allows users to share calenders and has a common contact list. My company is going under and i am starting my own. I have a domain name that comes with pop mailboxes. how can a setup the same type of email i had a work. i am fairly certain it was an exchange server but i wonder if i can accomplish the same thing without purchasing a server OS??? I'm pretty good on a PC but this is new to me. Thanks for the help.

Creating you own Email server is no trivial task, its a major programming exercise.

However you can install Email Servers that doesn't require a Server OS. A search on google will give you many choices.
