You have this Topic listed in the XP forum but you have Vista listed under your user name in your first post.
- the laptop has XP on it.
- you DO NOT already have the all in one connected to another computer on your local network at your location and already working in Windows on another computer (if you DO, you DO NOT need to do any of the following and you need different info).
- you are NOT connecting to the all in one via a wired or wireless network connection (if you ARE you need additional info).
You need to install it's software properly.
It is a VERY good idea to disable the resident module(s) of anti-malware software from loading BEFORE you install the software.
You may need to plug it into a different USB port, or if the computer is a desktop, rarely, you may have an IRQ sharing problem you need to fix.
