Comment:

Whenever i'm using Nero to burn a DVD, during the process, the computer restart after showing a blue screen (for about half a second). NEVER had a problem while burning cds.

I have the latest version update of Nero and im using the TDK DVDRW880N.

Usually, i only leave Nero open to complete it's task but when i'm back to the computer, there's nothing on the disk and the computer is showing that it has just recover from a serious crash.

Once, i provoque the crash because i opened my email software (eudora) while Nero was preparing the files to be burn.

Hope you have enough details.

Thank you very much.

after you boot up your machine, go to start>run and type regedit and press enter
go to hkey_local_machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/crashcontrol
in the crash control key, change the value of "autoreboot" from a 1 to a 0 that will allow you to see the blue screen error, and troubleshoot from there... post the stop error

I took a picture !!!

This time, i did not have to wait.

As soon as nero was launching it's main application for "making my own dvd" (after nero startsmart), it crashes right away.

Here's the link, thank you so much for your help.

i just noticed something, why don't you uninstall nero, update your machine to service pack 2 and reinstall nero, then see what happens...

I re-installed Nero from scratch before i started this thread. It did not work at the time.

But following your advice, i re-installed it again, but this time in different orders, as you might know, Nero is now in several installing modules.

This time it worked....Go figure.....

I'll just have to wait to see if it remain stable.

Thank you.

p.s. By the way, there is now way i'm gonna install SP2 for obvious reasons. ;-)

Bad news !!!!!

It happened again !!

This time i use the program today for several burnings without any glitch.

But now it's the blue screen again, maybe you can put some light on it by comparing the 2 errors code.
