I posted a message the other night about symptons of trojans and also coplaining of a delay in my typing. I would type something and my cursor would stop and then catch up with me after a while and finsish what I started to type. I got some good replies but still need help.

Today, I was in typing an email in OutLook Express. The same thing was happening and then it happened.

This message typed itself. I watched every key stroke as it appeared on my screen.

Do you think I have been hacked or have a trojan?
I have a Linksys router/firewall. I'm using Norton Antivirus 2002, I have XP's firewall turned on.

What should I do? I really need help on this.
Thanks

Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete, and look at the processes. Is there anything there that shouldn't be? If there is, end it. Does this happen at all while you're offline? If it does, then it's probably a virus of some kind. If not, then it's probably some kind of trojan, SubSeven or something maybe, where there is some sort of server running on your computer that allows someone to type for you remotely. If any of these are the case, then Ctrl + Alt + Delete should end them. Also check your startup group: Start -> Run, type msconfig, -> startup. Is there anything weird in there? Uncheck it, and it won't be able to load when your computer starts, only if you open it manually.

I disabled everything that I was sure I didnt need running. There were only a couple things that I didnt know what they were. I left them running.

I have run 2 different Trojan Removers and both came back with 0 Trojans. I ran Norton
Antivirus 2002 full scan and it came back with nothing. I keep live update on so my definations are up to date.

As I am typing this message, words are appearing without me typing them.

Is there a good uninstall program out there that would be able to tell me if a server is running on my machine? How about a good REG Edit Program for XP?

This is driving me nuts.

Help
Thanks

Rick,

I think you solved it for me. It was turned on in MS Word. Thats the only place I've seen it enabled so far.

I wonder why it was affecting my typing in Outlook Express and in my browser when Word wasnt even open.

I cant figure out how I got all those words in a quite room. No music, no tv, just the sound of my CPU

Anyway, Thanks
I'm possitive you solved it.
Jim
