Okay, I was messing around in my computer and deleted a Partition. Now its all messed up. I restarted it and it says missing operating system. I tryed going to the Microsoft web site and got the 6 XP startup disk but i got a Disk I/0 error. I have a windows 98 startup disk (if that will help) and my XP install disk. I also tryed to start the Install disk by doing the D\:startup but it says that the program can not run or start from DOS. Can someone help me Im about to lose my mind. he he thanks for all your help.

Greetings,

Use your Win98 Boot Disk, Type in at prompt: "fdisk" without the quotes. You need to delete all partitions on your drive, then create and format them again. That should do it.

Well, Let me be the bearer of bad news.
When you smash(delete) the partition all the data on your hard drive is GONE. And it is unreachable.
Moral of story> Don't take chances with your data.
Partition and format the drive and start over.

If your hdd is reformatted FAT32, then you can use a Win98 startup diskette.

Start your PC with W98 boot diskette and choose with CD-ROM support.

Note the drive letter of your CD-ROM and then type at A:\> prompt

x:\i386\winnt.exe

where x is your CD-ROM drive.
