Yep, that message probably means allocated space rather than RAM. Often the nearest error message is pulled out of the bag, so they can be misleading.

3.25G of RAM seems plenty.

O.K.

If it is a matter of my computer having too many fonts... exactly where do I find them and how do I eliminate them?

Again, I'm running a really old version of 123 - Release 2 from 1989.

In Control Panel > Fonts

Avoid the system ones (in red).
Also keep those that you know are in common use, such as "Arial" and "Times New Roman".

It's quite a task because there are so many that are similar. I know of no way to find out what is using them - maybe someone else will be able to advise.

I only had about 220 fonts in the Fonts folder. I eliminated 25% of them. I'm still having the same problem!

Any other thoughts? If it is an "allocated space" problem, how do I fix that?

Clutching at straws, but have you tried running the shortcut from compatibility mode?

I've been asked to select the "Best Answer" to my MEM problem with Lotus 123 Release 2.

I really do appreciate every ones thoughts and suggestions!

I don't know how I can select a "Best Answer" since none of the suggestions actually worked.

Again, thanks for your help.

Have you tried:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/82262

This is for version 1.0 but it might help

I suggest buying EMS Magic. Windows update KB2724197 changed the availability of EMS memory that used to be provided by EMM386. EMS Magic is free for individuals and only $25 for single seat business license. It takes a little work to get the batch file tweaked. I had to run the /ForceEMS switch. The EMSMagic online support manual will be very helpful. Good luck.

Re #11

I always worry that when we get responses, from someone who is not a regular helper, suggesting you buy something, then they could be SPAM.

Maybe not in this case, who knows, but I think it is right for me to make the point.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
