I removed from add/remove programs Intel R Extreme Graphics 2 thinking it was not important. The next time I rebooted, 2 things happened: all the fonts & icons are too big even tho they are set on normal and the computer keeps telling me that new hardware is waiting to be installed, a "video" something. Did this happen because I removed the Itel program? How do I get it back? Thanks for your help! Tara

Yep.

" How do I get it back?"

Go to the Gateway web site and look up the driver downloads for your model. Download the Intel graphics drivers, and install them.

I finally managed to get the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 correct download on my computer --it took hours because 1. You are sent to a new site MPC (they took over Gateway) 2. The drive is not called Intel Extreme Graphics 2, its under "Video" and has a number 9528286. If you are a layman, you aren't looking for Video, you are looking for Intel Extreme Graphics 2 -- actually, I tried it because it said graphics and I located it by keying in my model number. But it took hours because the labeling was not straight forward. I hope this helps others, that might have a similar problem.

And now you have a Green Check instead of the Red X, plus got your Computer fixed.

Not Bad HUH? :)

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

The name given to the drivers in Add/Remove Programs and elsewhere in Windows is determined by the name for them specified an an *.inf file included with the drivers - it isn't necessarily the same as the name of the drivers download.

You have onboard (built into the motherboard) graphics. Any correct download for the video drivers has to be the correct one, even if Gateway doesn't specifically call them Intel Extreme Graphics 2 drivers.

I found the download on the web in a few minutes, starting by simply searching the web using: Gateway M320. I saw nothing about MPC.

According to the Gatweway specs for your model I found in the same place, your M320 can have either of two main chipsets - both of them use the same video drivers - even Intel doesn't call them Intel Extreme Graphics 2 drivers:
