Hi.I wanted to install Windows Xp Pro as a second OS.I have win98 SE on C: and I created a new partition d: to install Win XP Pro with Partition Magic.When I was installing most of the files were not copied so I decided to exit from the install.But now I have a great problem.Because I always get the selection secreen when I boot my computer.It asks me to select to install Windows XP or to boot with Windows and I select Windows and it boots normally Win98.I tried all the things; deleted all the files on the D: partition, formatted the D: partition but I always get that message which asks me to select.How can I remove this selection it makes me angry I do not want to install WinXP anymore.Because my Cd is not working.I also tried to remove all the programs which start at the windows startup but nothing changed.Please help me.My English is very bad sorry from all.Thank you.

In your C:\ partition you will find a hidden file named boot.ini (you can unhide from Tools->folder options->view).
This is my boot.ini file
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server" /fastdetect
-default is windows XP
-to change to 2000 server I would change to default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINNTIf you only want one OS without the loader option set the correct default and under [operating systems] delete the one you do not want.
If there is only one OS there will be no boot option displayed.
NOTE: Since screwing this up may render you PC unbootable. You should make a backup as follows:
-Do a FULL format on a floppy disk
-Save ntldr, ntdetect.com and boot.ini to the floppy.Your PC will boot from this floppy disk.
