Specs: Windows XP, intel P111 733 mhz/256mb
i need to instal XP and if enable first boot device as CDROM in the bios setup it is not saving but the date and the time is saving i changed the cmos battery also then also it is not able to save the made changes in bios set up please advice me on that to my mail id whats shall i do for instal XP.

If you are trying to install XP on a system with only 256mb ram I recommend you don't. While 256mb meets the minimum, you will be very disappointed with XP's performance. Unless you can double the amount of ram in your system I suggest you re-think what operating system you propose to use.

As to why your BIOS will not save changes, Are you pressing the correct sequence of keys to "Save & Exit" ?

No reason why it shouldn'tsave unless you haven't got your CD?DVD drive installed correctly. As an alternative possibility is there an option, as the system boots, to select a boot device - one of the F keys?

Some BIOSes make you move the selection up in the list, not just select as first second, etc device. Check how your BIOS works. Of course you need to save when exiting the BIOS.
