Please tell me... I need to format the primary partition of this HD. I had the HD replaced. It is a 80 gig, and recently I found out that there was 44 gig unallocated. I got that taken care of, and have copied important information to that drive so that I can format the main partition. Can anyone help?
is a complete M$ KB tutorial all about using both Fdisk and Format commands. One of M$ better KB?

Insert the XP cd and set as first boot sequence, and install from there.

If you don't mind spending a little money partion magic will format the unallocated space without destroying the rest of the info. I have had good luck with the program and it is what I would recommend. Good Luck
