Hello. I need some help with my Windows Xp. I have PC in a small LAN network. In that PC is only "MY DOCUMENTS" as a shared folder. Now on another PC in the same LAN i made a small SHORTCUT of the SHARED "my documents" FOLDER and when i want to open this SHORTCUT with WINWORD it gives a problem like WORD CAN'T OPEN THIS FILE.....Is that any way to open it?? Help plz

You can't open a network folder in Word. If you're looking to access the My Documents folder from another machine, map a drive on the machine that will access the folder.

Yep, word can only open .doc FILES but not folders. If you want to open any specific .doc file in your shared folder, open the folder first with windows explorer and then open the file using word.
