What does "...and no use..." mean? You can download, but it is not functioning as you think it should, or you can not download at all, or what?

Plus, I doubt whether XP3 would recognize your hard drive, but XP 2 would not. Is your hard drive formatted Fat32 or NTFS? If XP2 does not recognize your hard drive, what would be the use of looking for XP2-compatible audio drivers?

You know, you probably should provide more info... it's really not that hard to do. Try it. It appears English may not be your "mother tongue", but it is not mine either, so... no excuse. Re-phrase, or whatever, but let's give it a good try, OK?

when i tried to install the XP2 OS, it is not detecting the heard drive. But when i tries to install the XP3 it shows the heard drive with partitions and i installed OS.

I assumed that in my XP2 OS cd it is not having the drivers to detect my heard drive (seagate sata) and those are available in XP3.
after that i downloaded the drivers from the acer main site and i tried to install those. Those are installing fine but audio is not working. all other drivers like VGA graphics, modem and cam drivers installed properly and working. But in case of audio no use. when i looked into the audio drivers setup folder there are two different exe files supporting to Xp1 and Xp2.
so i came to know that the drivers wont work with XP3 even though i had a trail.

Is there any possibility to get audio drivers specifically for XP3 OR need a XP2 OS CD with the inbuilt sata drivers to detect my heard drive.
where i can get it.
I formatted my hard drive as NTFS.
I am very much poor in English-- sorry for that!!!!

When attempting to install XP2, there was a message to press F6[?] to install those required SATA drivers. Obviously, you did not.

If I understand your current situation, XP3 is installed (that's fine). You have audio problems (other than not hearing any sounds, do you get an error message???). Try going to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager... is there an exclamation mark(!) at Sounds, etc.?

To quote myself: You know, you probably should provide more info... it's really not that hard to do. Try it. I meant that the first time around.

OK, you DID provide a bit more re: SATA (that was crucial info that you neglected to offer in your initial post). I am not trying to badger you, but you must be generous with info...

I found a sol for that problem. I can include the SATA drivers into the XP SP2 CD with nLite s/w. which will solves my problem. Thanks allot.
