Hello. I'm having problem with my computer. When I turn the computer on it's starts up and you see the XP screen then it goes directly to the blue screen of death. I get an the error message Here is the error# 0X00000051. I have tried statup disks, run off the XP cd, Downloaded DelPart and it still brings me to the blue screen. I cannot get into safe mode it brings me to the blue screen. Is there a way I can get around this??? I would like to format the harddrive but I cannot get around this screen. Any help would be appreciated.

bsd's are cause usually by bad memory, or overheating of the cpu. boot with the xp cd, all the way to the page where you can remove the partition and reinstall. BUT, just do the rpeair command there. you won't lose your data, but get a new system set of files

jameco..I have booted up with the cd and tried the repair option and it brings right back to the blue screen. I took the a 256 DDR stick out of another computer and put it in this computer and when I fired up this machine it asked to configure the new memory to 256 but I clicked no it brought me back to the blu screen. Should I put that stick (256) back in and try again??? I originally thought it was a memory issue. Any help would be appreciated.

many things can cause a BSOD. Be more specific on the error "STOP 0x00000051" is there a file name, Does it say "Registry error"? what are the parameters there is usually four more (i.e. 0x000000EF, 0x00000000....)
You are running XP i assume?
