I did do a bit of researching before asking the question but could not find someone answer this one.
I want to properply erase my Internet history. I do it the normal way or using software and erases it fine but some sites remain. When I use the "search" function and type something in like wallpaper, some sites are shown. When I right click and click delete, they are still there? They just won't go. I don't like sites with lot's of adware and bad links and things on them and want to get rid of such.

ccleaner is a great utility, you may also want to only keep one day of history and disable Auto complete.

Thanks for the responses. CC Cleaner is great but it did not erase those few remaining items I was talking about.
They are in the left bar and when you search for some sites (with specific words) it finds a few things and you can't right click delte them. You can, but it does not seem to do anything.

Isn't this to do with INDEX.DAT? I seem to recall someone saying somewhere that you can delete the temp files etc etc but INDEX.DAT still retains some data and it's this which shows up in History? Happy to be corrected, but it rings a bell...
