I have over 1000 emails in my inbox, how can

Do you mean that delete at the top doesn't work? When you highlight the message then move the mouse to delete and click does it delete the message? Once you have deleted all the messages this way click on deleted in the left hand column and click on sort by at the top and then click on delete at the top and everything will be gone.
Summary: there is a msg saying 'You have 1 unread email', but I have no unread emails in my inbox, outlook, whatever, so I dunno where it came about. Anyone knows how to solve this? ...
Summary: I have lost more than one month's emails in my OE inbox. I have not deleted these. Can't remember whether this happens after compaction or not. Can any one advise how can I recover these emails again...
