I have just installed an LG "Slim Portable DVD Writer" onto my IBM Think Pad. Whenever I try to play a CD or DVD, a pop up appears and says "dVD Decoder is not on my computer" I have tried to download the 'FreeMicrosoft XP DVD Decoder" from the search page, it won't download -- i'm lost now -- what do i do?
Try downloading VLC Media player, on setup be sure to check mark all movie types the same for audio.

I've always used the XP Codec Pack, but either of the above suggestions will work. And it won't hurt to do both.
