I have difficulty installing downloads on XP OS

August 14, 2016 at 11:19:09
Specs: Windows 7
I want to know where I can download existing updates on the XP operating system. I know that Microsoft has discontinued support, but thought existing updates should be available.

My immediate problem has to do with the message "The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic library KERNEL32.dll" which message I get as I try to install a downloaded application.

Support for XP ended as of April 2014. However, all updates up until that point are still available by using Windows Update. If you haven't already done so, it's very important to have SP3 installed 1st, then use Windows Update.

Get SP3 here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/det...

BTW, do NOT use Internet Explorer for browsing the web. IE9 was the last version supported by XP ...it's outdated & a major security risk. I suggest you download & install either Firefox or Chrome for web browsing.
