i have a virus

CPU/Ram: pentium III/128 mb

i have a virus that shuts down my laptop when i'm scaning it with an antivirus. i don't know the name of the virus. i tried to scan my laptop with RAV online scan and after finiding to infeccted files my laptop turned off. please help me.

Have you tried downloading the latest updates.
You could disable the virus (if it is a virus) by looking in your 'task manager' (CTRL+ALT+DEL once) and in the 'processes' tab for anything unusual. Then do a system scan.

Or and easer way, do a scan in SAFE mode. (Press F8 on startup untill you see an options screen then select 'Safe Mode')

try to download AVERT stinger and scan your system ... it covers about 40 of the most recent and common viruses ... then update your av software and install critical update patches.
