| Knowing the make/model of your board, RAM, & your exact CPU would be helpful. It's very important to run a CPU:RAM frequency ratio of 1:1 with the Athlon XP or the system will take a performance hit. I'm guessing you have an AXP 1900+? If that's correct, the CPU frequency is 133MHz which means you should be running DDR266. If you installed DDR333 or DDR400, it should be underclocked to DDR266 speed to match the CPU frequency. Did you manually configure the memory settings in the BIOS? Did you test the RAM with Memtest86, Memtest86+ or Windows Memory Diagnostic? If not, those are the 1st things you should do. As for the MX4000, is it the AGP or PCI version? Did you look into the specs or do any comparisons before buying it? You could have done a lot better. You haven't provided enough of an explanation to determine why your system is locking up. Did you disturb the CPU heatsink when you installed the card or RAM?
