Download Firefox using a different PC.

Copy Firefox installation file to a pen drive.
Plug pen drive in to your XP computer.
Install Firefox.

You can now use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.

You didn't ought to be using IE on XP, except for the now very rare MS updates, because it is insecure.

Firefox is a great alternative.

When you say Reset did you try:
"Control Panel > Internet Options > Reset button"?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
