I forgot the machine password !

are we confusing bios passwork with OS password?
If bios the usual method is to clear the bios. This is done by a jumper on the mainboard. Consult the mb manufacturers documentation [or look on the mb] for the location and procdure for clearing the bios.

We arent confusing, altough patrick might be! I thought about the bios password but not too many fool with that so I assumed it was windows. If its bios you will not see windows at all.

Not only can you use the cmos jumper to clear the password but you can also take the battery out for a minute or so and put it back. Being careful not to break the tang.
