i can't unpin items from start menu

good day! i'm a noob when it comes to computer. i hope someone could help me. why can't I UNPIN programs from the start menu? when i "right-click" a certain program that is in my start menu, nothing appeared. i can't even create a shortcut to the desktop. it only occurred when im about to right-click some programs when i wanted to create a desktop shortcut or when i wanted to UN{IN it from the start menu. pls help me. i want to remove some items from the start menu but i just can't remove them, since nothing appeared when i did the right-clicking. by the way, right click is enabled. pls help. :-( and sorry about my English, not quite good with the language. thanks.

There are a couple of ways to do this.
One is:
Start Settings Task Bar and Start Menu Start Menu Tab Customize Remove Highlight the one you want to be removed Click Remove Close OK OK
