i can't see any of my icons/apps/toolbars on my monitor just my background screen is visible

press ALT + CTRL + DELETE... task manager should open... in the applications tab click on "new task" write "explorer" click "ok" if works, make sure you are not infected... if not...i`ll think something... Windows XP user i would appreciate if everybody that has received help from me to say if my suggestions works

If just the icons are missing, but you have the Start Menu and taskbar: Right click the desktop > arrange icons by > Show desktop icons. If you also don't have the Start Menu and taskbar: Go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_... and try #195 on the right.
