Not sure about all, but some. That's the function of restore. To reinstate what was there before the problem.

Hi. System restore leaves all your files intact and only reverts to the "settings" at the time of the restore date. Stewart

Bit of a wit....half to be precise.

Sorry, mean't to say that. It doesn't delete anything, just resets the system the way it was at the time of the restore point.

Some files will be lost, depending on their location and extension. I've learned to 'hide' .exe's before doing a restore if I've downloaded them after the restore point was created.

It's one of the features that makes it better than 98's scanreg /restore option.

I already tried two restore points...
Both say "Restoration Incomplete", that it cannot restore to that point, and that no changes have been made 2 my PC...:@
Why is this?? :'(
Thanx!! ;)

I just change their extension to .txt and then System Restore ignores them.

As to your restore problem, I've never seen posts where someone was able to get previous restore points working again when they were initially failing.

If you don't find a solution for it, turn off your system restore, reboot, and then turn it back on again. This will purge all previous points, but new ones should work OK.

You also said in your first post that you didn't have any antispyware progs. You should try Ad-Aware and Spybot (both free).

You could also see response #1 in this previous post regarding the slow right-click, but I'd advise against mucking around in the registry if you're unsure of what you're doing, especially while the system restore is not working.

I fixed it!! :D
I turned my PC off and rebooted into safe mode...then went on msconfig and deleted some suspicious files from bootup...hmm...I didnt delete the files kuz I tought maybe they were the wrong files...:P but now it works!! :D
It works better, only 1 out of like 10 files do slow right click, and when it does, I fix it by clicking somewhere else! :D
Much thanx every1! ;)

That's good, but don't think you're free and clear. I'll bet your full of spyware, adware and maybe some viruses.

Update your virus program, download, install, update and run AdAware and Spybot. Delete the bad things they find. Also download HijackThis and run your log through the analyzer and/or post it in the security and virus forum. Also download Spyware Blaster. It doesn't clean or find anything, but it keeps bad stuff from getting in in the first place.
