Hi All
Five Days ago I just done some computer housework, virus scan, defrag spy/adware ect and all was clean.I done a disk clean up and canceled all restore points(boy there was so many)also I created a restore point to three days ago (when I deleted software I didn't want) and I tried to go back but message says I cannot restore to that date/point? I've re-run scans ect again all clear.
Any advice welcomed with open armsBlue

Normally when a virus is suspected, system restore should be disabled before running a scan. However, disabling also deletes ALL restore points. Once the virus is removed & any other maintenance is completed, system restore should be re-enabled & a new point created. Is that what you did?
There's a setting for the amount of HDD space system restore can use. Once that limit is reached, the oldest restore point is dumped each time a new one is created. I believe that max space that can be used is 12%, so depending on the size of your HDD or partition, the amount can be fairly considerable.
What exactly are you trying to do now? In other words, what is wrong with your system that makes you want to restore it to 3 days ago?

Hi, Are you by any chance using Norton anti virus? If so, Norton will not let you do a system restore. If you are, post back and I will provide you a link on the topic. Bluejay

Please exscuse me, Bluejay I am interested in this link in regaurds to Norton stopping Restore from working.
Would you be so kind as to send to MeOnMine@gmail.comThank you

Hi,Wayne. Sorry but I don't send e-mails. If you are having this problem. This link was provided to me by Johnw. http://bertk.mvps.org/html/healthy.... Near the top of the page is a link to instructions. It tells you how to turn off the part of norton which protects itself from changes to it which is one thing system restore does. I turn it off when doing a restore, and then back on when finished. Bluejay
