I cant install games or software

CPU/Ram: p4/ddr

When i try to install games or software i get an i/o error during installation and i cant find the problem. I have reformated my hd and replaced ram/ide cables but i still get the problem.

Try with other CD-ROM may be that one is bad

I even get the error when not using the cd-rom
