fee71, Go to the link below and scroll down to Line 129 (left column) and click on "Restore Folder Options Under Tools" and download and save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_...

Folder Options should be available under Tools in Windows Explorer and also in your Control Panel.

If you can't run the reg file from kellys do the following:

Press CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager. Once there, click File, then hold down the CTRL key and click New Task (Run). This will open a Command Prompt window. Enter REGEDIT.exe and press Enter. Once regedit is open click File>Import and locate that reg file fix, hilite it and click Open.

fee71, Use Internet Explorer and right click it then choose "Save target as" and save it to your hard drive where you can find it. Double left click it or right click it and choose "merge" to merge the contents into the registry.

fee71, If that reg file was merged into the registry successfully it should have corrected the problem. Try restarting your computer and see if the option appears. Post back.

fee71, If the reg file fix won't work download and run the "RRT (Remove Restrictions Tool) 1.0" at the link below.

fee71, Did the reg file and reboot fix it or did you use the RRT Tool? Glad it's fixed.

Do you mean the Search on the Start Menu or just the Search button when you open Search from the Start Menu? Go to the link below and under the letter "S" scroll down to "Search-Doesn't Work" and follow the instructions. You may need the actual Windows XP CD NOT a Manufacturer Restore CD.
