Solved I cannot open e-mails

January 11, 2014 at 14:16:11
Specs: Windows XP
After I re-installed win XP and outlook express, my e-mails were gone as well as everything else. I didn't plan on this because I had just reinstalled XP before and did not loose anything. I found my old outlook express .pst files and re-installed them, but now I can't open any e-mails, not enough memory. Also express will not open after it has been closed, I have to re-install from the win xp disk to open it again. Any ideas?

"I found my old outlook express .pst files"

Outlook Express does not use PST files. PST files are used by Microsoft Office Outlook which is not included with Windows.

Sounds to me like you need to install Microsoft Office Outlook. That's probably why you can't access your emails.

Microsoft have this stupid habit of over using a name. It goes like this:

Outlook Express. Email program now outdated but still works on XP.
Outlook. Email program which is part of Microsoft Office.
Outlook.com. New online (webmail) facility
