Some to look over--
Resources for using Internet Explorer 6
That has some Error messages near bottom of page.Error message: The page cannot be displayed

The reason that you can use the ip addresses to surf but not the domain names is that you have not specified a DNS server in your network connection tcp/ip properties. A DNS server translates domain names into IP addresses when you use the internet. If you have bellsouth dsl or something of the sort then you probably need to set it to obtain the dns server address automatically if it is not set up like this already.

your hosts file has been corrupted there are copy's of good ones avaiable on the net will take a search or 2 ... browse to
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
You will find the hosts files there just right click and open with notepad then you can view and edit the file hereQHOSTS virus will attack this file and your computer will be unusable to novices who do not know the dns address's of where they want to go

Hi Guys Thank you very much for quick response. Yes i copied a new host file from the windows XP CD, and replaced it in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc , but still not resolved the issue. This problem is causing only when i connect using dial-up, If i connect to my network through US robotics Ethernet card i can able to browse internet as usual.
