hi! my problem is that when i start my computer, when it comes to "verifying pool data" it said "boot disk failure, please insert system disk and press enter". after i reboot it still happens. but when i changed my boot sequence to be CD-rom boot first, and when it comes to "verifying pool data" and then it says "boot from CD...boot from CD..." "please press enter to boot from CD" if I press enter it will go into xp installation or repair. so, without press anything, my computer will then load . anyone have any idea of what is going on! really appreciate for your helps!

Set first boot device to hd o and try. If not boot then try hd 1 and see what happens.

sounds kinda like my computer, allways trys to boot from CD and then asks for a cd that doesn't exist, but if I hit reset it starts working. So I just hit power then reset immediately everytime I turn it on.

Hey Try going into bios and setting your hard drive as the first in the boot sequence.depending on your mother board pres f-8 or f-5 or del before it says post is complete. you should see the boot sequence in there somewhere save changes and that should do it

Sounds like to me that your Master Boot Record may be corrupted. Have you tried formating your master boot record. Grab win98 boot disk boot up your PC with the floppy in your a: drive. At the a: prompt type in "fdisk /mbr". Hope the helps. PDN

it look as if the bootable partition is not "active". To verify this, boot off a Win98 boot floppy and run Fdisk + select option 2 (make partition active). If this is not active, make it active, escape to DOS prompt and reboot from the HDD.
