Hi guys. I need some help.
I had a trojan virus, and I removed it.
When I had trojan virus, I couldn't download any files that linked. If I clicked on download link, it would lead me to some search engine site. Now, I trojan is gone, but still have a problem. I can go to any web site contains download link, such as download.com. When I click on download link, it goes to http:///. Yeah.. strange. Its not even http://. Ot has three slashes and thats all. Please, advise me with somre solutions. Thanks.lol

I had a trojan called downloader.vb.ec that AVG couldn't detect until I went to folder options and checked "show all hidden files and folders" and "show hidden system files", something like that. I then had to manually delete the infected files. It's worth a try, sounds like you have some remnant of that trojan still.

If you can still use windows update, do the following. This will make Windows Update think that you are not running the latest version, and reinstall IE6.
ALWAYS EXPORT A FULL BACKUP OF YOU'RE REGISTRY AND SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES TO YOU'RE REGISTRY!
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Active Setup \ Installed Components \ {89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
right-click the IsInstalled value, and then click Modify
Change the value data, from 1 to 0
Close the registry editor
Go to Windows Update and reinstall IE6Please use the "Alert Me" button in the top right hand corner of this post if I can assist you further.
