Hi,

I bought Windows XP Home edition upgrade, and I wanted to upgrade my windows 98 system to Windows XP. My system was tested for faults and hardware conflicts. And the only reason why I could not upgrade to Windows XP was that there was a conflict with the Higpoint HTP 366 Ultra DMA controller! Well, I do want to upgrade to Windows XP and my question is: What do I have to do to upgrade to Windows XP? I hope you have a solution for the problem!

I am running xp with the htp 366 DMA controller disabled. I disabled them while I was still runnung windows 98. Without restarting the systems install xp. It still asks for the driver for this device but just ignore the the prompt. My system, seems to be running fine.

Use the ver 1.23 win 2000 driver. Install manually when prompted to hit F6 to install scsi or raid driver.

Joe is right, I wouldn't recommend just ignoring it. Just go to the http://www.highpoint-tech.com/366drivers.htm link and get the 2000 drivers adn manually install those when prompted to install scsi/raid drivers . remember to disable the UDMA66 drivers within windows before starting setup otherwise xp won't let you install it.
BTW there is a version 1.5 available now from that link as well.

Hope that helps
