Hey. I only have knowledge of HTML. And im pretty certain you can just do this with javascript. http://arukk.comlu.com is my site; i want it to detect the computers resolution and if it is 1280x1024 then load the background pic but if their res isnt then not to load it at all. Could someone please explain how to do this?
Also; if you select one of the resolution buttons and go into the site it doesnt have any pics and the links wont work. I figure it either has something to do with my free-web-host (000webhost.com) or its a problem with my scripting. Ive tried everything and the site loads perfectly locally.

Thanks ahead,
Arukk

Your javascript and images aren't getting loaded, for example:

GET /scripts/jsclock.js HTTP/1.1
User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 5.0; U; en) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.00
Host: arukk.comlu.com

Response:

HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
Date: Sat, 19 Sep 2009 09:05:55 GMT
Server: Apache
Location: http://error.000webhost.com/
Content-Length: 236
Connection: close
Content-Type: text/javascript

The images show a similar response - an error page. Hope this helps.

Indeed it does; thanks. Ill remove the script links as they do not actually exist. Maybe that might change it. Because the sub-directories do exist; http://www.arukk.comlu.com/1280x102... Thanks. Still need help with the code though to anyone else please :P

Google gives you plenty of sources - see the first two hits.

Secondly, your host is an Apache server - your filenames and folder names are all case sensitive - arukk.JPG is a totally different file to arukk.jpg for instance. Best stick with lower-case throughout. Your PC can handle it, Apache can't.

Thirdly, the only images I can find on your site are Arukk.JPG in folder images, and the three resolution buttons in images/ressel - folder images/menu doesn't exist. The three buttons are BMPs - you'd be better converting them to GIFs - 1.7k compared with 30k.

Lastly I'd recommend installing the latest Opera browser - it's got superb development tools built-in. It's what I've been using to analyze your website.

Aah. Now i did notice the opera part. I will look into that, thanks. And i did not even think of apache being case-sensitive as ive only ever used linux programs as servers. Also, i did look on google but i clearly just used the wrong terms. Thanks for your help and ill post back here when i fix it :P thanks again.
