It seems i am stuck with using ms-frontpage...i don't like fp. Then i remembered 1st page that i used a while ago (then it was 1st page 1000). When i try to install 1st page 2000 i get this error message on my win xp pro -

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

- this also happens when i try to install another html editor called hotmetal 6.

Do you have any clues?

I use a system with: Athlon XP 2500+, ASUS A7N8X mobo, 1 gig ddr ram...

If you have a copy of autoexec.nt in windows\repair, copy and paste it into windows\system32. If you're still having trouble you can check this KB link.

Adware/spyware are often blamed for this, so you may want to run a scan or two.

Assuming that it was adware/spyware that deleted it on you (which is likely, but not certain), it doesn't necessarily mean that you still have them. The file could have deleted a while ago, but you just hadn't tried to run anything which required it until now.

kevin, not sure it is XP compatible. I used to run ME and used a proggie called "Cod-O-Matic" to write HTML. You entered what you wanted (plain text) and it produced the code ready for copy/paste into your document,FTP,etc.
