more an annoyance than anything, but it annoys me so here we go...
the IE page icon on HTM files (not internet shortcuts) has recently been replaced with the unknown filetype icon. I tried to get it back, my changing icon in file types, but it doesn't update. double-clicking the file still opens it ok, its just there's no icon.
i've also reinstalled ie, and deleted the file types and recreated them, with no luck.
i don't really want to reinstall windows just for this, so if anybody has any ideas, i would be grateful.
thanks in advance.

XPFreak, You may want to try the fix below. I know it works for other versions of Windows.
Right-click the desktop and then click Properties.
Click the Settings tab.
Change the color depth from the current setting to a new setting. For example, change from Highest (32 bit) to Lowest (16 bit).
Click Apply, and then click Yes to accept the changes.
Change the color depth back to its original setting.
Click Apply, and then click Yes to accept the changes. If it doesn't solve the problem go to the link below and download & install TweakUI for XP. It has a "Rebuild Icons" feature under "Repair" which may fix the problem.
