hi I recently got windows xp and and realised that ny nodem wasn't working. Win xp didn't have a driver for my modem whick is hsp56 micromodem. When I tried to query ny modem I got no respnse from it. But when I switched back to windows 98 it worked fine can you tell me where I can get the apropriate drivers for my modem which will allo it to work on windows xp . Any help will be greatky appreciated!!

hi Boris!! :) hows ya! heh! its common prob with XP dat modem stops working (Some modem which XP doest have perfect inf). well ofcourse it will show u dat its alrite n workin fine but it fails to dial or connect. Well I dint found any prob in install PCtel Modem as XP itself installed it while installinb XP. any way... Well HSP 56 MicroModem is PC-TEL's Product. just click ! http://www.baboo.com.br/hardw/drivers/hsp56_winxp_full.zip also u can goto pctel site to download it wud be better to get it from da site itself n here it is http://www.pctel.com/downloads/drivers_download.htm just choose ur modem n download if want can read da procedure to install which is ther on da page. Had same problem with this modem.did compatibilty test it said it was compatible also listed as compatible on microsoft website.when i did full install it went online for about a day then it came up with a message no dial tone and as i was unplug \plug scanner i thought i must have moved the wires .but after checking everything i found it to be the modem itself ..then i noticed it happened most when there was a message on my phone..sometimes when i took of the message it would work..but after a few times i have no problem with it except it makes a noise through the speakers on dialup which it did not do before........

I also had the same problem with my HSP56AMR But it works fine now with XP Drivers...
