When I close down my computer, I get a message box saying that hpcmpmgr.exe is still running and that it is shutting down the program, and gives me the "end now" option. This is a new thing over the past week. What is this program, what does it do, and do I need it? What can I do to stop this from popping up? Thanks for the help.

Hi Has your hp printer been working OK, you may have to reinstall it using your software disk, or you may need to go to HP and download the latest drivers for your printer

I also have this problem with hpcmpmgr.exe hanging at shutdown, but when I go to the HP support page and try to download the software fix "hpcmpmga_disable.exe" via FTP, for some reason nothing happens--unable to download it when I click the "download now" button. Any ideas of what might be wrong?

John, Just had the same downloading problem using Netscape 7.1. I switched over to Internet Explorer and it worked fine. That's the second time that I had this problem with Netscape but it's still much better than IE. - Bob -
