Specs: Windows XP
Hello,We have an engraving business, We use Corel 12 and Adobe AI for our artwork (logo, ect) we need 'vector files'
We have a PC with windows XP got a scanjet 6200 that after 2 years just stopped working. The message said:
"scanner not found" we hooked it to another PC and it was found, but will not preview.still will not work. I bought a scanjet 6300 and installed it with the same USB and power cord as the 6200. It worked fine for 1 week. Now, it says "scanner not found" Can anybody tell me what's going on? I did unplug the USB and wait for the power as the troubshooting told me...still does not work.HP support
knows less about their own products and support than a child... Any ideas?
we need the 'vector conversion' scanjet offers
Any other scanners offer vector option?

Do you have a bunch of other USB devices connected? It's possible for a lot of USB devices to load down the +5 volts that USB ports supply. If you do have multiple devices, try disconnecting everything except the scanner for a test.

We have a Epilog 35wattCO2 laser and a HP PSC500 printer. I will try only the scanner. however, why after 2 years would it happen and why after 1 week on the newer scanjet 6300? That puzzles me.

Thank you for your thoughts. Will try that.

"why" If you think it's ridiculous to try, don't bother. It is a long shot.

Another long shot. Try changing your USB cable. You said you used the same one for the new scanner. I have seen them go west but not often.
