HP ScanJet 4200c and XP

I have Windows XP on a new computer (no previous versions of Windows)and an HP ScanJet 4200c. I have tried everything to get this to work including the drivers on the HP web site...which are for people who have upgraded to XP. Can anyone help? HP won't.

HP won't, I know having to deal with them myself. Drivers for this scanner can cause problems if not installed to the same partition as the XP install. Had the same with scanjet 3300c. The way to get this working is to uninstall the upgrade drivers, download the pucker XP drivers and install to XP partition.

Call HP Parts Direct and tell them yourproblem and ask for the HP PrecisionScan Lt 2.0.2 Software CD for HP ScanJet 4200Cse. I think the CD part# is C7172-13411. This will work on Windows 98,ME,2000, but I have used it on windowsXP home works great. Phone # 1-800-227-8164 wait to talk to a live body. I ordered it 8months ago so it hope they still have it available for you.
