I just replaced the keyboard on the laptop. The old keyboard would type a different letter when keys are pressed bt an external keyboard works good. The problem now is i cannot set a repeat rate in the keyboard properties page. i have to keep hitting the key to make it repeat despite the new keyboard what am i doing wrong?

What type of keyboard did you connect to replace the built in keyboard? What do you see in the Keyboards cluster of Device Manager? What do you see under the Devices name section under Hardware tab of Keyboard Properties window? M

I connected an extenal ps2 101/102 keyboard for testing. i have since bought a new replacement lapyop keyboard and installed it. I still cannot get the keys to repeat if i keep a finger on them . i've tried adjusting the repeat rate - no dice still. - on the keyboard cluster of device manager i see - standard 101/102 key or microsoft natral ps2 keyboard

If the ZIF ribbon connecting the Laptop's keyboard to its connector is not properly inserted, kbd can do bizarre things. it is a real pain to get the flimsy plastic cable in the socket. M
