HP Pavillion won't boot up

HP 533w won't boot up. It was unplugged prematurely and I guess this resulted in files being corrupted. I would just reformat but I can't get back into Windows to do anything. It uses the d: recovery drive instead of an XP cdrom. It won't start in safe mode or any other optional startup. I can get the XP recovery console to work and I've run CHKDSK a couple times and FIXBOOT with no good results. Any help would be appreciated.

If you ever have to get a new harddrive, even the recovery partition will not help. So its best to order those required CDs to restore computer to a new condition, as if you had a new HDD.
Even though this page refers to Compaq, its ok for HP.---- Go here--- http://h18000.www1.hp.com/cpq-count... then enter in your exact Model name, and number, then tick what information you want to know, then proceed from there.
You may find out how to order CDs. HP is too cheap to give them with new computers.

Also to say === I think I have read that some HP computers have a method to make your own Recovery CD after purchase of the computer, and before some jerk like me, unplugs it.
My Compaq computer was supplied with that CD, and a Recovery partition. A year later the HDD indicated that it was about ready to take a dump, and for me to save my data. So I got a new HDD, and order other CDs.
