Just asking around if anyone knows where I might obtain a driver for an HP Pavilion 542x audio chip. The chip itself is labled as an AD1981A chip. I have tried 4 different downloads, ranging from intel's website, to hp's website but just nothing will take on this machine. Anyone else run into this seemingly dead end of driver hunting?

i have two hp pavilion 7965 and 8533z, your hp 542x use recovery cd for audio driver of AD1981A chip? or call hp care center or hp website see hp pavilion model for techsupport? you should take first use recovery cd after if no sound or other audio problem then call hp care center 1 877 439 9509 to techsupport will help you for audio drive same me was no sound just broken then i check audio driver-- i found audio cable( no PCI)connect motherboard only that why hp have to replace new motherboard's sound of audio for 7965 model.
