can not install windows xp anymore.bott order is set in bios but the press any key to boot from ... does not appear.what can i do?

Do you mean it doesn't show on the screen or it doesn't give you the option in the bios.

it looks like the optical drive does not see the bootable instalation disc.the dvd unit is ok,it works just fine.the problem is that after the motherboard logo is shown,it quickly starts windows from the hdd.it does not show the boot screnn.please help me if you can.

That 'normally' means either the optical drive is not set first in the bios, the disc is not bootable, or the drive is defective.

thanks for your help but neither of this seems to be the reason.i don't know what's wrong... anyway thanks dude,and if you get any idea please let me know.
