HP 5510 Printer Error Message

I purchased a HP 5510 Printer/fax/scanner/copier yesterday and attempted to install the software. I got an error message that displayed as this: d:setup\hpzgat01.exe cue -run hpzmsi01.exe-m photogallery -1 enu -f c:windows\hpoins03.dat-validate no-W 590130
I have gone around and around with the HP people, downloading patches, updates, etc and even did the system restore thing. To no avail. Now, I have a $200+ paperweight on my desk. Some of the downloads they sent me to are MDAC, MS Script 5.6, SPack 1a, msjavax86. None of this stuff worked. Neither did the system restore.

did you install the software before connecting the printer cable?? sounds like you might have a bad install disk. can you download the drivers from hp site, see if they work?/ or copy the install cd to the harddrive, run setup from that folder
Have you run a virus scan recently? You may also have to ffr could be some sort of incompatibility with something you have on your computer already that's what I would try to do
you're welcome

Thanks for your suggestions. I ended up fixing the problem myself without the "help"? of the HP people. I cleaned my computer of all HP software, and loaded the printer software using the selective options rather than a full loading of it. Once completed, everything works fine. I sent the fix to HP for them to consider sharing with other customers that are in the same situation as I was.
