How-to lock down workstation

OS: XP SP2
CPU/Ram: 3.0ghz

What is the best way to lock down a workstation so that the user can do whatever they want but when they logoff or reboot all those changes are erased and the unit returns to the original configuration, with no files changes or additions permanently made.

I also need to be able to log in as the administrator to periodically update the profile and make changes.

It sounds like you're looking at either a "mandatory profile" or an image boot that software like Deep Freeze can provide.

This is a little different from locking a workstation which can be done as the above post says or by hitting the Windows Key + L.

Have a look at the Deep Freeze software. I know it's in wide use in a lot of schools, collleges and technical training centers.
